got new glasses!

Finally! I've had my other pair for about 5 years. Then when I had to get new lenses, I though, "oh, why not." So I got new frames. They are very cool. They will take a bit of getting used to, though, because they are wider than my last pair.

hmm....

So.

I randomly got sick. Not fun, but it's going away pretty fast.

I've decided to go a bit more mainstream with my learning. I'm taking 4 distance education course this year. Should be interesting. Should be.... well, we'll see.

Violin lessons are starting up again pretty soon! Yay!

I've started Agility with my dog, Finnegan. Agility, for those who don't know, is a dog-human sport where the human guides the dog through an obstacle course. It's as much a learning experience for the human as it is for the dog. And it's fun!

Ok, can't think of anything more.......

Music festival

Holy..... OK. First of all: The choir did great. Actually, I don't know if we could have done better. I think everyone was happy with our performance. It was so good that we are going to perform in the Highlights concert: the best of the best in the music festival! WOOT!

And with my performance on my violin. Well. I was sick. With a low-grade fever. And the worst cough of my life. And I played both pieces. And the surprising thing was that it went really well. Yes! I was really pleased with both performances. I could have played louder, but aside from that it was great. A really awesome conclusion to two pieces that I've worked hard on. And..... I won an award for my playing! DOUBLE WOOT!

Weeeeeee!

So, this morning my choir had a performance at the music festival. I was quite pleased with how we did. Which was weird, because a week ago I didn't think we could do it, but we did!

And this Sunday and Monday (both in the evening), I will be performing my two violin solos at the music festival. I'm pretty sure I'll do a good job: I've been practicing for a long time, and both pieces seem pretty strong.

I'm taking archery again. I love archery so much! I'm hoping to buy my own bow, so I can practice more often, but I'm not sure what kind to buy and all. I know of someone at the local sports store that I can talk to. But anyway: I'm the only girl in my class, which I find a bit funny for some reason, but it doesn't bug me at all. I'm actually kind of proud of it.

Anyway.......

The Story of Stuff

This is a short little vidio about, well, the story of stuff. Where it comes from, where it goes, and what happens to it in-between. I would really recommed watching it. http://www.storyofstuff.com/

Beaver problem

Yes, I'm afraid to report that we have a beaver problem. The sticks in the kindling basket get taken out and chewed on. The wood in the pile beside the wood stove get gnawed on. And I think that we know who the culprit is. And it doesn't look like a beaver. It has four legs, a long-ish body, a tail, two ears, it's pure black.....

Yup. The "beaver" is Finnegan. He has a lovely habbit of chewing on our firewood and making a mess. We don't let him, but he tries it anyway.

I am sorry that I haven't posted in here for ages. I really don't know what got into me. But I'm here now, and I'm posting. :)
